Local hospital fostering communication between doctors and patients

The time to fill out an Advance Healthcare Directive is now, when you are of sound mind and function--the time you may feel you need it the least. If tragedy strikes, you may not be in a position to state your wishes. An advance directive unburdens your family and friends from having to guess about what medical care you may or may not desire as well as the intensity and duration of that care. Families are complex and not all members may be on the same page regarding your best interest. Avoid confusion later on by filling out your advance directives at the Texas Health and Human Services website:
