Data shows that using science in an argument just makes people more partisan

Confirmation bias. We cherry pick the evidence to support our biases and ignore that to the contrary. If one has 10 articles before them, one of which supports a personal bias and the other nine countering, the focus will be on the one article that supports the bias (while minimizing or dismissing the other nine). This translates to multiple aspects of our daily lives from how we read the newspaper, listen to the news, show a presentation at work and even colors the conversations we will have over the holidays. 🎄 http://ift.tt/1VMjaZw
