Why Being Rich and Famous Can Mean Worse Medical Care

There's a perception that VIP care is better care, but it may indeed be substandard care. The protocols of medical care are processes that have been honed over years to offer the best outcomes. Departure from these processes based on preference or status, may be needlessly risky. Many hospitals have "VIP suites/wings". I remember during my training when a world famous surgeon himself was hospitalized and was offered a complimentary upgrade to the VIP suite which he declined. He knew about the risk of VIP treatment. If you are a "VIP", the best thing your doctor can do is to treat you like everyone else. http://ift.tt/1VMjaZw
