Brazos County Health Department, local officials working on plan to prevent, manage Zika virus

Ten cases of Zika virus reported in Texas so far. Given the mild winter, one may anticipate a heavy mosquito season as summer approaches. Mosquitos are vectors for may diseases such as West Nile, encephalitis, chikungunya, dengue fever and others. Drain standing water around your property. Cover water storage barrels/containers and treat with "dunks". Appreciate the guidance of Dr. Seth Sullivan, infectious diseases, and all the fine folks at the Brazos County Health Department who are ever vigilant and readied to keep the Brazos Valley safe and healthy.
