New Sleeping Pill May Induce a Narcoleptic State?

New Sleeping Pill by Merck. Since this medication blocks orexin, is it inducing a narcoleptic state? Narcolepsy results from diminished or absent orexin. #dox #li http://buswk.co/QkigQn via @BW

Narcoleptics do not have restful and restorative sleep.  If this drug does induce such a state, is it reasonable to expect it will result in restful and restorative sleep?

Sleep promoting medications may be tried for a short period (a month).  However, if poor sleep quality persists beyond this trial, a comprehensive sleep evaluation is advisable.  A pill may simply cover up, or even make worse, an underlying sleep disorder which threatens health and well-being.
