Turnkey Strategy to Fight Childhood Obesity

Teens who participate in at least two sports during the school year are less likely to be obese.  Sounds obvious right? Yes, but it provides something concrete each household may implement.  Read more, We need to get kids moving–their lives depend on it.

This is a turnkey strategy.  Your kids are already at school and there are a plethora of extracurricular activities from which to choose. Consider setting expectations accordingly.  As my boss tells his kids, "I don't care which sport you choose, but I expect you to participate in a sport each year."

Another turnkey strategy is the school's nutritionist.  If your child's school district offers nutrition counseling, it's a good idea for the whole family to arrange a meeting.
