Acting out your dreams may be linked to Parkinson's
Dream enactment may be a marker of neurological disease like Parkinson's. Signs may be apparent 13 years before conditions like Parkinson's disease is clinically diagnosed by a physician. A sleep study may show characteristic evidence of preserved muscle tone in REM sleep. Skeletal muscles are meant to be paralyzed during REM in order to prevent acting out one's dream.
